This week's lecture was about Visual Semiotics. At first, I will admit I didn't understand the topic as soon as I took one glance at the title, but Mr. Charles gave us a simple explanation that gave us a clear undertanding.

To make it simple, semiotics means sign. It's a representation without using words.

Theory/ hypothesis, on the other hand, means that you have to observe, analyze or reflect before explaining what is happening.

Science of signs:

Ferdinand de Saussure and Charles Sanders pierce developed two modules in the meaning of visuals.

Saussure- signified fact, signifiyer meaning. A sign is provided when two is brought together.

Pierce- Similar module the signifyer is interpretive (point of view)

It was an interesting class, really but that's all I could remeber for now. To the next time...
